About
APVA ACADEMY
The African Podcast and Voice Academy (APVA Academy) is a flagship initiative of the Association of African Podcasters and Voice Artists. It is designed to equip African audio creatives with the knowledge, tools, and industry access needed to turn their craft into thriving businesses.
From idea to income, the Academy provides structured, locally relevant, and globally competitive learning experiences for podcasters, voice talents, and spoken word artists across the continent.

Why APVA
Here’s what sets APVA, and the APVA Academy apart:
We localize international learnings where necessary but we prioritse building homegrown resources and training designed for African realities, in African languages, using African examples. Then we scale it for global competitiveness.
From the APVA Awards to Utukufu, our ecosystem has already impacted thousands across 140+ countries, spotlighting and elevating African voices like never before.
Whether you’re starting out, launching a show, or scaling your studio—our tracks, coaching, and business incubators are designed to help you grow and monetize at every level.
We are creators ourselves. Our network of instructors, coaches, and alumni is built from the inside out—so we don’t just teach theory, we pass down lived experience.
Everything we do—from our repository to our shop, from our directory to our streaming platform—is built to make African audio creatives discoverable, credible, and commercially successful.
When you learn with us, you plug into a larger ecosystem:
- APVA Match to find jobs and gigs
- The Script Repository to sharpen your skills
- APVA Awards & Utukufu to amplify your voice
- The Community to collaborate, trade, and grow
Learn your way. Self-paced or cohort-based. Virtual or hybrid. Coaching or community. We meet you where you are—and take you where you want to go.
